Audit performance check of site in Wuppertal, Germany, gives Axalta an A- rated Refinish Supplier status

Mercedes-Benz AG has renewed its Certified Refinish Supplier status to Axalta (NYSE: AXTA), a leading global manufacturer of liquid and powder coatings, for its two global premium refinish brands - Spies Hecker and Standox – both of which are manufactured out of Axalta’s Wuppertal production site.

The seal of approval follows a four-day audit of Axalta’s largest production site for waterborne coatings, which took place from 25 to 28 November 2019. Bart De Groof, Commercial Director for Axalta’s Refinish business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), says, “Mercedes-Benz expects nothing but excellence from its suppliers and we passed the standard audit performance check with flying colours. We showcased the best-practice processes we deploy at our Wuppertal site, as well as the high-quality services and products we provide Mercedes-Benz dealerships and networks globally through our Spies Hecker and Standox refinish brands. This all helps to contribute to the premium car status of Mercedes-Benz.”
