Axalta Coating Systems has announced the launch of its next-generation Fast Cure Low Energy (FCLE) surfacer technology across Australia and New Zealand, with availability from 15^th April 2026. Building on the global success of its patented FCLE platform, the latest evolution delivers even greater productivity, durability and efficiency for modern bodyshops.

Designed to support high-throughput repair environments, the new surfacer technology combines sanding and non-sanding (wet-on-wet) applications into a single product. This eliminates the need for multiple surfacers, helping bodyshops reduce stockholding, simplify ordering and streamline application processes – all while maintaining exceptional finish quality.

Speed and efficiency remain at the core of FCLE technology. With low-bake and air-dry capability, the system enables faster drying times while reducing reliance on energy-intensive spray booth cycles. Globally, FCLE technology has demonstrated the potential to reduce gas consumption by up to 50% and electricity usage by up to 48%, supporting both cost savings and sustainability goals.

The FCLE system is delivered across Axalta’s three premium refinish brands – Cromax Ultra Performance Energy System, Spies Hecker Speed-TEC product family and Standox Xtreme System – ensuring bodyshops can access the technology through their preferred brand.

The next-generation FCLE surfacer technology is available now through Axalta’s distribution network, with additional clearcoat technology scheduled for release across Australia and New Zealand later in 2026.
