Dr. Robert Roop has served as Axalta’s Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer since July 2019. He is responsible for driving the overall innovation and technology for the corporation, including customer-centric product development, application development, long-term R&D, and manufacturing process engineering support. Prior to this role, Dr. Roop led the global R&D organization for the Refinish and Industrial businesses, and before that he was based in Germany and led the overall company R&D for Europe, Middle East & Africa.  Prior to those roles, Dr. Roop spent more than twenty years in R&D and operations positions at DuPont in various polymer and chemical businesses, including DuPont Performance Coatings where he led the global Light Vehicle technology team. Dr. Roop received a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University and holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Texas A&M University.
