Collegiate Racing

Throughout the United States, we have hosted college students at events sponsored by Axalta Racing that promote engineering under the hood and in the stands. We expanded our Formula SAE racing sponsorships to include Texas A&M, Penn State University, Villanova University, and the University of Michigan.

Formula SAE consists of student teams that design, engineer, and compete against other universities for the safest on-car track and the best problem-solving vehicle. The prototype race cars are evaluated for their potential as production vehicles in real-world applications. The concept behind Formula SAE is that a fictional manufacturing company has contracted a student design team to develop a small formula-style race car.

Axalta’s investment in Collegiate Racing is an essential tool in our STEM education programming and it brings our STEM-based initiatives to life!

"Axalta was a fantastic partner for the 2015 World-Challenge so we are incredibly pleased to work with the Cromax brand as a Silver Partner. Our shared values, which include a love for innovation, a dedication to teamwork and an integral philosophy for sustainability solidifies our confidence that this year, along with our other partners, we will improve on our previous years' finishing positions."
