Requirement
This area was continuously damp and represented a confined area with difficult access. Preparation and coating work were therefore difficult and normal standards impossible to achieve. Long term performance was however required and coating had to have WRAS Approval for contact with potable water.
Preparation
Previously coated and corroded steel was hydrojetted and manually prepared to St2 standard of EN ISO 8501-1:2007 and then hydrojetted again to remove any further dust and contamination.
Coatings
WRAS approved system of Corroless™ EPF Buff and Corroless™ RF35 (2006) was applied. Stripe coating was applied where appropriate. WRAS Approval Number 1204534.

Comments:
Steelwork was inspected 3 years after application and the coating system was found to be giving excellent protection. A further inspection 8 years after application reported the coating was still in very good condition.
